Which city are you from?
I am from Reseda, CA, I've lived in the Valley all my life.
How long have you been creating for and what inspired you to start?
I've been making art for as long as I could remember, I've always been artistic even as a child. What inspired me to start making art was the fact that you could create anything with art. That always amazed me and I loved the idea of being able to see something and bring it to life with my own hands.
Whats your favorite medium to work with?
I really like working with ink and what not because I love working with line work. But my all time favorite would have to be oil paint.
I see you work with oils often, what attracts you to painting with them?
Yes I work with them a lot! I love oils because I love to blend. I used to work with acrylic paint when I first started painting but I hated how fast it dried and how flat the color was. Oils just allowed me to take my time and really made my portraits come to life more.
Which cities would you like to travel to paint in and why?
I recently came back from Tokyo for the Stones Throw 20th anniversary show and I really loved it. Japan is absolutely beautiful and honestly I wouldn't mind living there and having shows there. The culture and everything there gave me so much inspiration for art work. I could only imagine being able to paint there, I would probably have a gallery full of new art!
What things in life inspire you to create?
Honestly what inspires me to create it being able to take an idea in my mind and creating it with my hands. That's like the most amazing thing ever.
Will you be showcasing your work in any upcoming shows?
I don't really have anything as of rite now but in a few weeks I'm going to be displaying my art work at a skate shop in San Fernando.
What does Los Angeles Mean to you?
Los Angeles means freedom to be who you want. We live in such a diverse community with people who are constantly expressing themselves in different ways. It's an absolutely beautiful thing.
Where can people find your art?
Anybody you would like to thank?
I'd like to thank my boyfriend Armando, he pushed me to start making art again and if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be making art today. I would also like to thank my mom for always supporting me and my art, even though it might not be her cup of tea. She's always helped me out no matter what.
